PH 3-2½ BOLLARD Lamp
Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system in 1925-1926. PH collaborated with Louis Poulsen to create the first lights using this system for a Paris exhibition. PH continued this partnership until his death in 1967. His goal was to produce glare-free light and control shadows with incandescent bulbs. PH 3/2½ Bollard is one of 30 models in the three-shade family, including three for outdoor use. The system has been used to create over a thousand different models, such as table, floor, and wall lamps, and various chandeliers. These lights were available in different colors and sizes. The original shades were made of metal, while later versions used glass. PH used a scientific approach to design the lights, utilizing the logarithmic spiral for even light distribution and glare control. Each shade reduces light equally based on its distance from the source. The top shade size determines the model number, with corresponding middle and lower shades
Light concept: The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the light downwards. The shades have a matt white painted interior surface, diffusing the light in a comfortable way.
