PH SEPTIMA Pendant Lamp
The PH Septima is one of Poul Henningsen's most elegant pendant lamps, based on the PH three-shade system with seven delicate clear and frosted glass shades. The frosted fields help diffuse the light and prevent glare, with a top glass cup to keep dust out. In 1931, a smaller version was released based on the PH 4/4 and PH 5/5 lamps, but a metal version never made it into production. However, the design influenced the creation of the PH Artichoke years later. Due to material shortages, the PH Septima and other lamps were discontinued in the 1940s, but in 2020, Louis Poulsen revives the sophisticated seven-shade design with improved suspension and more durable glass.
Light concept: The seven-shade glass crown emits a glare-free, downward directed light, while radiating a pleasantly delicate glow. From shade to shade, frosted glass fields alternately cover the clear ones, thus diffusing the light even more softly.
