PH 5 Pendant Lamp
PH & Louis Poulsen's partnership began in 1925-1926 w/ his 1st lights for a Paris exhibition, and lasted until PH's '67 death. He fused glare-free direct lighting, soft shadows w/ incandescent bulbs, and a system offering thousands of variants. A logarithmic spiral ensured even light distribution, while glass diffused the light reducing glare and shadows. Each shade reduces light equally, thus the model numbers. The 3/2 Academy has 30 cm top shades, and 2/2 lower shades for lower hanging. It was released in 2000.
Light concept
Fixture offers comfortable, glare-free light using Poul Henningsen's three-shade system, which directs most illumination downward. Lateral and internal light emission provides soft radiance, and the lower shade includes a frosted diffuser glass for completely glare-free light output.
