PH 3½-2½ Floor Lamp

Poul Henningsen's three-shade system, designed 1925-1926, began with lights designed by PH and Poulsen for an exhibition in Paris, continuing until his death in 1967. He sought to create glare-free light, direct illumination, and soft shadows with incandescent bulbs. Today, 30 lights in the family include three outdoor models. Not just a light, an entire system was designed, with over a thousand models produced. Table, floor, wall lamps, and chandeliers were available in colors, sizes, and various combinations. Shades were metal with painted undersurface or glass. Logarithmic spiral inspired even light and shadow control. Model numbers refer to shade sizes. The 'hybrid' PH 3½-2½ Floor, introduced in 2002, consists of a 35 cm top shade and lower shades.

Light concept
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown opal three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matt on the underside, giving a soft and diffused light distribution.
